Obituary of Rose Horrigan

Miss Rose Horrigan, R.N., 83, a former resident of Tremont St., Peabody and now residing in Summer St., Danvers, died Tuesday at the Beverly Hospital after a short illness. She was born and educated in Peabody, the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Walsh) Horrigan and resided here most of her life. She was a graduate of the J.B. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing and Tewksbury State Hospital School of Nursing. She became a special nurse at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital, Peabody and later at the Hunt Hospital in Danvers. She also worked at the Shaughnessey Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem for 10 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed Golf, bowling, Gardening and traveling. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. John (Esther) Sweeney of Peabody, 2 nieces, Mary Jo Dussault of Topsfield and Rose J. Horrigan of Salem, Ma., 3 nephews, Rev. John Meagher, S.S.E. of the Edmundite Fathers of Swanton, Vt., John Sweeney of Peabody and Michael Horrigan of Taunton, Ma. and many grand nieces and grand nephews and great grand nieces and great grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Catherine Horrigan who died this past Ocotober, John Horrigan and Mary Meagher. Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. A visitation will be held on Friday Morning from 9:15 to 10:45 A.M. prior to the Funeral Mass at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are Kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Edmundite Fathers, 1428 Broad St., Selma, Al. 36701 in her memory.
