Obituary of Ralph W. Partridge

Ralph W. Partridge PEABODY—Ralph W. Partridge, 87, a resident of Millbrook, NY, and husband of the late Laurette (Leclerc) Partridge, died on Sunday March 7, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born December 4, 1922 in Peabody MA, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Helen (Lane) Partridge. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, and attended St. John’s Prep as a Post Grad student. He received degrees from Boston University and the Columbia Graduate School of Business. He was a three year resident of The Fountains at Millbrook, NY, and previously he lived in Weston , CT for 40 years. Ralph was a proud World War II veteran. He served as a Naval Aviator, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant. His career included managerial positions with Otis Elevator, General Electric, Xerox and Chiquita Brands. After retirement he volunteered his time and talents as a consultant for the National Executive Service Corps. Ralph traveled extensively throughout the world, for business and pleasure, visiting over 40 countries on six continents. He had a true appreciation of nature and reveled in the adventure of travel. Among his many talents, he was a wine connoisseur and gourmet chef as well as an avid sailor earlier in life. On Thanksgiving 1944, he married Laurette Leclerc, the love of his life, at St. Joseph’s Church in Salem. She predeceased him in 1988. Ralph is survived by two sons, Richard Partridge, who resides in Poughkeepsie, NY with his wife Evelyn, and Robert Partridge, who lives in Westfield, NJ with his wife Margot. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amy, Gregory, John and Laurette. Ralph’s two sisters, Jean Partridge and Joan Arnold, predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 – 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
