Obituary of Peter John Bingel
. Peter John Bingel, 74, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Joan (Elson) Bingel.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of Mary (Kaishis) Bingel of South Boston and the late John Bingel. He was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and later lived in Revere and has lived in Peabody for the past few years.
After high school, Peter enlisted with the United States Coast Guard and served his country honorably from 1955 until 1959. After his service with the Coast Guard, Peter worked for the General Electric Company as a turbine machinist and was a member of the IUE union in Lynn.
Peter is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Debbie Bingel and Alan Bingel, two daughters sons-in-law, Lisa and her husband Robert Ferri and Lauri and her husband Eric Murphy, a brother, James Bingel of West Roxbury, two sisters, Joan Harzbecker and Rita Frost and is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Christopher William, Christopher Scott, Amanda, Joseph, Cori-Devan, Brandon, Stephen and Sarah, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
