Obituary of Helen C. (Dowd) Maresco

PEABODY Helen C. (Dowd) Maresco, 89, of Newbury ST., beloved wife of the late Joseph Maresco, died Thursday morning at the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem following a brief illness. Born in New York City, she lived there in her youth, then in Howard Beach on Long Island before moving to Peabody where she lived for the last 27 years. She was a communicant at St. Adelaide’ s Church for many years, and enjoyed being at home with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, John & Janet Maresco of East Rockaway, NY; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Barnes who died a month ago, and her husband, Joseph, and several brothers and sisters. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
