Obituary of Cirino S Silva

Cirino Sousa Silva, 81, of Peabody, died Tuesday March 9, 2010 of natural causes at Peabody Glen Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Virginia Silva whom he married in 1968. He was previously married to Maria Silva who died in 1964. Born in Graciosa the Azores on October 10, 1928 he was the oldest of 6 children. Before immigrating to the USA he was employed in the fishing industry in the Azores. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 and was employed by Hawthorne Leather as a factory worker for approximately 20 years. He remained a lifelong resident of Peabody. Cirino enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening and was a member of the Portuguese American War Veterans Post where he enjoyed playing cards and socializing with his friends. Cirino is survived by his loving sons, Manuel Silva of St. Louis; Wayne Bennett of Brockton; Sister Maria Silva of Peabody; Jamie Silva of Graciosa; 3 grandchildren Daniel Silva, Grace Silva and Timothy Bennett.
