Obituary of Albert E. Lucia

Albert E. Lucia LYNN—Albert E. Lucia, 90, beloved husband of the late Lucia A. (Lou) Lucia, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at the Lahey Clinic North in Peabody. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Cyrus and Lillian (Southwick) Lucia. He was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Lynn English High School. For 70 years, from the age of 5, Albert devoted himself to the family market until his retirement at the age of 75. He was most proud of celebrating his family legacy of the market’s 100th Anniversary. Albert enjoyed exercise, and rode his bicycle to his shop. He continued recreational biking during retirement. He loved the outdoors, and if not found at his shop he would be tending to his garden of vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He is survived by: two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Lucia Harnois & her husband James of Peabody, and Nancy Lucia Beaupre & her husband Robert of Lynn; five grandchildren, Amy Maglione of Peabody, Kelly McGovern of Billings, MT, Jenn Michalozski of Georgetown, Danielle Cook of Salem, and Matthew Beaupre of Lynn; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Lucia and Dorothy Lucia, both of Lynn; a sister-in-law, Betty Lucia of Lynn, a niece, nephew, and two cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucia A. (Lou) Lucia, with whom he enjoyed 64 years of marriage, and a brother Warren Lucia. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Monday March 29, 2010 from 8 – 10 A.M.in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn.
