Obituary of Helen (Argetes) Kyslowsky

Helen (Argetes) Kyslowsky, age 89, died peacefully on Saturday March 27, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. Helen was born on April 7, 1920 in Peabody, daughter of the late George and Bessie (Margelis) Argetes. She was the wife of Michael Kyslowsky Sr. from 1941 until his death in 1988. Helen in survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sharon Kyslowsky of Georgetown, Texas, Daniel Kyslowsky of Sanford, Florida, and Michael Kyslowsky and Deborah Cobb of Peabody. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, her beloved adopted granddaughter, Lorena Hamze of Peabody, and by 8 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Helen was a graduate of Peabody High School. She was a retired realtor from the Greater Salem Board of Realtors and also retired from the Social Service Department at the Salem Council on Aging. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed bowling, dancing, and reading. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, the Daughters of Penelope and the ABC Bridge Club. For the past 20 years she shared her life with her dear long time friend and companion, the late Robert Theriault. Helen was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Geanakos of Somerville, Eugena Malonis of Los Angeles, Tina Tremblay of Peabody, Kathryn Vlasuk of Peabody, her brothers, James Argetes of Brockton, Charles Argetes of Hamilton and William Argetes of Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friend are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
