Obituary of Sandra L. (Douglas) Ericson

Sandra L. (Douglas) Ericson, 70 years young, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, passed away early Sunday morning, March 28, 2010 surrounded by family and friends, following complications from and accident at her home. “Sandy” was born in Maryland on April 7, 1930 to Malcolm and Norma Douglas. She enjoyed sailing with family and friends locally and to the Caribbean Islands. During the past 10 years she was a frequent traveler and took many day trips with her loved ones, which included white water rafting and hot air ballooning. Some of her trips included Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Italy, and France. She also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching various sports. She is predeceased by her late husband Charles Ericson, her late father Malcolm Douglas, and her late daughter Diana Lynne Mogavero. She leaves behind her former husband, Francis Michael Mogavero of Sarasota, FL., along with their four children, Scott M. Mogavero and his wife Kerri of Peabody, Christine Tirado and her husband Manny of Orlando, FL., Cathy Tsoukalas of Reading, and Deborah Curcuru and her husband Steve of Northport, FL. She thoroughly enjoyed and loved spending time with her four grandchildren, Jennifer and Melissa Kramer of New York, Matthew and Benjamin Mogavero of Peabody. She is also survived by her mother Norma Douglas of Peabody, and last but least, her close companion and beloved dog, Molly. Following cremation, her Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
