Obituary of Jeanette B. (Dragon) Cassidy

Jeanette B. (Dragon) Cassidy, 83, died early Saturday morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Cassidy. She was born in Peabody on October 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Cote) Dragon and had resided here most of her life. She had been a waitress for 28 years, first at the former Moe’ s Skellar in Peabody and later at the Clam Shell Café in Peabody. She later worked at the Holiday Inn in Peabody until her retirement 10 years ago. She enjoyed playing Bingo games. She is survived by 2 sons, Edward J. Cassidy Jr and his wife Sally and Michael J. Cassidy and Toni all of Peabody, two daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen M. and Robert Jackson of Beverly and Karen and Sterling Walker of Jacksonville, Fl, 10 grandchildren, Bob, Bill and Brent Jackson, Michael Walker, Michael Cassidy, Kelli Garner, Leslie Cooper and Reagan, Courtney and Leighann Cassidy, 8 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Robert L. Cassidy and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Dragon Jr. and Doris Arvanites. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. A Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.Following cremation, burial will be held on Thursday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
