Obituary of Betty J. (Birkemose) Williams

Betty J. (Birkemose) Williams PEABODY—Betty J. (Birkemose) Williams, 72, beloved wife of Robert Williams of Peabody, died peacefully Friday morning at her home while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Walton) Birkemose, Sr. She lived there in her youth and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1955. She lived in Peabody for nearly 50 years. She worked as a Clerk with Dunkin Donuts on Rte 114 in Peabody, the Market Basket in Middleton, and also Christy’s Market in Lynnfield. Betty was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Arlington, enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and loved animals—especially her dog and cats. She enjoyed camping, and trips to Waterford, ME or Mill Brook RV Park in Kingston, NH. She enjoyed living a quiet life at home, as she enjoyed being with family and friends. She is survived by: her husband, Robert Williams of Peabody, with whom she shared nearly 51 years of marriage; two daughters, Brenda McCarthy of Amesbury and Patricia Bellville of Bradford; one son, Ronald Williams of Haverhill; six grandchildren, Marc Williams, Lauren Williams, and Christopher Williams all of Haverhill, Ronnie Williams of Beverly, Karen Bellville and Adam Bellville, both of Bradford; three sisters, Marie Henricksen of Kennebunkport, ME, Janet Shea of West Groton, MA, and Claire Bennett of Somerville; two brothers, Henry Birkemose, Jr. of Essex and Donald Birkemose of Somerville, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. After cremation, a Graveside Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
