Obituary of Julie M. (Silva) Matvichuk

Julie M. (Silva) Matvichuk, 71, of Peabody, died Monday evening at the Kindred Hospital Boston North Shore in Peabody after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Philip J. Matvichuk with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She was born in Peabody on July 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Serpa) Silva. She graduated form Peabody High School in 1951 and resided in Peabody all her life. She had been employed at Pittard’ s Leather Brokers of Peabody for over 30 years prior to her retirement 8 years ago. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her husband and family. Surviving her besides her husband are 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marie Matvichuk of Danvers and Paul and Patricia Matvichuk of Middleton, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Makridis of Marblehead, a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Lucy Silva of Salem, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Norma and George Dugan of Marblehead and Sarah Bailey of Florida, seven grandchildren, Kristen and Amanda Matvichuk of Danvers, Rachael and Patrick Matvichuk of Middleton and Natalie, Christina and Andrew Makridis of Marblehead and Many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Mrs. Walter (Gloria) Clark. Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited.
