Obituary of Kathleen J. Conway

Kathleen J. (Wall) Conway, 68, formerly of Charlestown and a longtime resident of Peabody and West Dennis, died Sunday morning at the Mass General Hospital, Boston surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Robert V. Conway with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. She was born and raised in Charlestown, the daughter of the late John R. and Kathleen J. (Myers) Wall and was a graduate of Cathedral High School of Boston in 1951. She had been a telephone operator with the N.E. Tel. & Tel. Co at the Bowdoin Square Office, Boston for 9 years prior to raising her family. She had resided in Peabody, Ma. for the past 44 years and summered at her home Conway’ s Castle in West Dennis for over 32 years. She devoted her entire life to her family and was beloved by her 16 grandchildren. Surviving her besides her husband are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. and Christine Conway Jr. of Lynnfield, 5 daughters, Kathleen A. Conway and her companion Sherry Rowsey of Nantucket, Ma., Ellen L Vinard and her husband Paul, and Maryanne Conway and her husband Francis LeBlanc all of Swampscott, Shelagh A. Murphy and her husband William, and Maureen E. Conway all of Peabody; 2 brothers, John Wall of Carver, Ma. and Gerald Wall of Wolliston, a sister, Mary Anne Mc Cabe of Wilmington, Ma.; 16 grandchildren, Paul F., Joseph, Nora, Michael and Maire Vinard , Maryanne and Jessica Conway and Daniel Conway-LeBlanc all of Swampscott, Ma., Sarah, Kathleen, Robert V. 3rd , Sean and Christopher Conway all of Lynnfield and William Jr., Maureen Briege and Aidan Murphy all of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Wall and Stella O’ Toole. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home ,at the 12 Chestnut St. Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’ s Church, Charlestown at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
