Madeline M. Ruotolo
PEABODY—Madeline M. Ruotolo, 102, died peacefully Tuesday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody after a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Marie (Grazia) Ruotolo. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody.
Miss Ruotolo owned her business, Madeline’s Beauty Shop on Boston St, and moved it to Flint St. in Salem.
Madeline was a communicant at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, was a founding member of the Italian Ladies Club at the Italian-American Club in Peabody, supported the Carmelite Sisters in Peabody, and enjoyed knitting and cooking.
She is survived by: two nephews, John Desmond & his wife Gail Desmond of Peabody; Thomas Desmond of Lawrence, and several grandnieces & grandnephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Angeline Desmond and Anne Murphy, and brothers Alexander Ruotolo and Frank Ruotolo.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Thursday morning April 29, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to Care Alternativ ves Hospice, 181 Cedar Hill Rd. Marlborough, MA 01752
