Obituary of Ellen Louise (Anderson) Looney

Ellen Louise (Anderson) Looney, 64, of Peabody, died Monday evening surrounded by her loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Toivo and Ellie (Luoto) Anderson. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1962. She has lived in Peabody for the past few years. Ellen first worked for General Electric in Lynn and later worked as an administrative assistant for the Obey Construction Company in Lynn for many years before retiring in 2009. She enjoyed knitting and reading and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by a son Kevin Looney of San Antonio, Texas, a daughter, Kimberly and her husband John DiClemente of Lakeville, a brother Donald Anderson of Forestdale and his wife Karen Anderson of Taunton, a sister Marion (Anderson) Bowden and her husband Russell of Peabody, her two beloved grandchildren, Rebecca DiClemente and Kiana Looney, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, and cousins and friends. A private funeral service was held on Friday with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
