Obituary of Catherine T. "Kathy" (Lordan) Walsh

Catherine T. “Kathy” (Lordan) Walsh, 78, of Peabody died peacefully early Tuesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice Center in Danvers after a year long illness. She was born in Everett, MA on February 15, 1932, the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Sweeney) Lordan and was raised and educated in the Everett School System. Following her marriage she had resided in Malden before moving to Peabody 40 years ago. Kathy had been employed at the G.E. Plant in Wilmington and later called Ametek for 15 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading and working in the garden. She was especially fond of her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Mimi” and loved doting on them. She also enjoyed raising and caring for her cats, Hillary and Holly. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Flora Walsh of Jacksonville, NC, her two daughters and their spouses, Georgina and George Pitman of Peabody and Karen and Wayne Carter of Georgetown, her six granddaughters, Michelle and her husband John Higson of Groveland, Heather and her husband Christian Tsoutsouris of Georgetown, Jennifer Pitman and Krystle Pitman both of Peabody, Vanessa and her husband Frederick Kaylor and Rebekah and her husband Christopher Sims all of No Carolina, her great grandchildren, Jordan and Kaylee Higson and Carter Sims and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held there on Friday at 10:00 AM with Deacon Leo Martin officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
