Obituary of Jerome A. "Jerry" Crowley, Sr.

Jerome A. Jerry Crowley, Jr., 62, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Thursday morning. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Jerome A. and Eleanor (Sweeney) Crowley. He lived in the Roslindale and Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and Suffolk University with a degree in History. He later returned to school to study Counseling and earned an Associate Degree from North Shore Community College. He lived in Peabody for several years. Mr. Crowley started his career as a Librarian, then Substitute Teacher in the Boston Public Schools, then joined the Teamsters Union while working with Casey & Hayes Movers. He recently was a Counselor with the Center for Addictive Behaviors for the last 10 years as a Rehab Counselor. He also worked at a Half-way House in Malden. He was an avid reader, enjoyed movies such as mysteries, music of all kinds, especially nostalgic from the 1960’ s, loved animals, local travel, and was motivated to help others from participation with Alcoholics Anonymous for several years. He is survived by: two brothers, Michael Crowley of Lowell and Richard Crowley of Marlboro; one sister, Joan Hatzirallis of Bristol, CT; an aunt, Mary A. Sweeney of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut ST. location, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Cremation will follow after the Funeral. Memorial donations may be made to Memorial donations may be made to MSPCA, 350 S.
