Obituary of Josephine H. (Perfikowski) Kalinowsky

Josephine Helen (Perfikowski) Kalinowsky, 90, of Peabody, died peacefuly Thursday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John Kalinowsky. She was born in Peabody on February 17, 1920, the daughter of the late Walter and Tekla (Kozak) Perfikowski and was educated and resided here all her life. She was first employed at the Sylvania Lighting Company at the Boston St., Salem plant and later at the Danvers location. She then became a Sales associate with Filenes at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody for 22 years prior to her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed reading books and crocheting and loved to have social gatherings at her home. Josephine had been a member of the Peabody Council on Aging and the Golden Agers of Peabody. She is survived by two sons and a daughter- in- law, Philip Kalinowsky of Tyngsboro, MA, and Robert and his wife Teresa Kalinowsky of Topsfield, a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Barry Belknap of Hillsboro, NH, her eight cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Katherine, John, Jodi, Joel, Marc, Andrea and Barry Jr., and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Perfikowski, Julie Pietkiewicz and Bertha Krisko. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the downtown 20 Church St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held there on Monday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
