Obituary of Ernest J. Trefry

Ernest J. Trefry, 93, of Lynnfield, died early Thursday morning at Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Frances (Woodhouse) Trefry. Ernest was born in Beverly on March 21, 1917 and was the son of the late James A. and Sarah E. (Curtis) Trefry. He attended Beverly Public Schools and was a graduate of the Beverly High School. Upon his marriage to his wife, Frances, he moved to Lynnfield where he has resided for the past 69 years. Ernest worked as a welder in the construction field for Eastern Tank which was formerly of Peabody and Andover. Ernest also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Christine Trefry of Bradford , a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Lingel of Lynnfield,,and is also survived by six grandchildren, Joshua, James, and Andrew Lingel, and Todd and his wife Stephanie Trefry, Allison Trefry and Eric Trefry, a great granddaughter, Emma Trefry and by several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Linda Trefry. Ernest was one of thirteen siblings. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
