Obituary of Josephine (Le Broda) Potowa

Josephine (Le Broda) Potowa PEABODY—Josephine A. (Le Broda) Potowa, 93, beloved wife of the late Louie Potowa, died peacefully Friday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter to the late Stanislaus & Stanislawa (Cerzwinska) Le Broda. She grew up in Manchester where she also attended schools, and graduated from Manchester High School. Mrs. Potowa worked in her younger years as an associate at Almy’s in Salem. Besides nurturing her family, she also worked 37 years as an assembler with GTE Sylvania at the Boston St. location. Josephine belonged to the Sylvania Quarter Century Club, the Sylvania Retirees Club, and the former St. Joseph’s Holy Rosary Society of Peabody. She enjoyed knitting, taking bus trips to Maine with the Council on Aging, and loved her family and friends. She is survived by: one son, Louie Potylo of Danvers; two grandchildren, Susan Potylo Moran & her husband Robert of Exeter, NH and Robert Potylo of Danvers; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Moran of NH, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louie and several brothers and sisters, and a daughter-in-law Patricia Potylo. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at 8 A.M. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
