Obituary of Mary L. (Gelott) Trabucco

Mary L. (Gelott) Trabucco 90 years, wife of Frank P. Trabucco Sr. of Peabody, died Friday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Trabucco was born on March 9, 1915 daughter of the late Francesco and Catarena (Scarcellar) Gigliotti. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1932 and was a lifelong resident of the city. During WWII, Mrs. Trabucco was employed as an assembler at the Sylvania Hytron in Salem. While Mayor Philip O’ Donnell was in office she became the Assistant Purchasing Agent for the City of Peabody, a position that she held for 30 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Peabody Ladies Lodge #1964, Peabody Garden Club and the AARP Chapter 106. He life revolved around her family and she loved going to lunch with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also an avid reader. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons and their wives, William F. Bill and Yvonne Trabucco of Beverly, Frank P. Buddy and Joan Trabucco Jr. of Peabody; a daughter and her husband, Bonnie L. and Roger Gallant of Peabody; 3 sisters, Catherine Cronin, Lucy Peterson and Lena Styles all of Peabody; 10 grandchildren, Amy and Peter Capalbo of Beverly, Lisa and Stuart Katz of Hampton NH, Mark and Suzanna Trabucco, Anne Trabucco, Michelle, Phillip and Denise Gallant all of Peabody; 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas Trabucco of Peabody, Nicholas and Sophia Capalbo of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her siblings, Anthony, William, Camino and Benjamin Gigliotti, Frank Gelott and Rachel Suzy Wheeler. Her funeral will be held Thursday July 14th from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location, Peabody followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday July 12th from 4 - 8 p.m. Her committal of ashes will follow on Thursday.
