Obituary of Stanley J. Lapukas

Stanley J. Lapukas, 79, husband of the late Irene V. (Bennett) Lapukas with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Mr. Lapukas was born in Lynn, on April 3, 1931, son of the late Michael and Mary (Whitkas) Lapukas. He was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. Following his graduated he enlisted into the U.S. Army and served as a Corporal attached to the Military Police Platoon IX Corps, being honorably discharged on August 19, 1952. In 1960, he moved from Lynn to Lynnfield. Stanley began his working career as a metal shop teacher at the Lynn Vocational School. He later became employed on the North Shore as a tool and die maker. In 1978 he started his own tool & die manufacturing company known as Atlantic Products which he operated until his retirement in 1988. Stanley dedicated his life to raising his family and for the past 8 years he was so proud of his grandson Thomas whom he adored. He was a former member of the Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Lynn and traveled extensively with his family. Mr. Lapukas is survived by his son, Stephen M. Lapukas of Lynnfield; a daughter and her husband, Lisa M. and Sal Sciaudone of Lynnfield; a grandson, Thomas S. Sciaudone of Lynnfield; several nieces and nephews. His sister Sophie Smith predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 3 to 6 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
