Obituary of Louise (Meaney) Philpott

Louise (Meaney) Philpott, of Lynnfield, died Friday evening at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Edward Red Philpott with whom she shared over 46 years of marriage. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Henry & Irene (Tobin) (Meaney) Garrigan. She had attended Lynn Public Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She later had lived in Wakefield and Greensboro, N.C., and has spent the past 35 years living in Lynnfield. She had worked at the General Electric River Works Plant in Lynn for 15 years as a clerk prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield and she enjoyed playing Beano and reading. She also was an avid golfer, who along with her husband, was one of the original members of the Thomson Club in Nahant which later became to be known as the Thomson Country Club in North Reading. Besides her husband of 46 years, she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Barbara (Bogart) Meaney, of Bethlehem, NH; 2 sister-in-laws, Lois Russell of Stoneham and Patricia Philpott of Magnolia; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Richard Meaney and sister of the late Richard and John Jack Meaney. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield, at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
