Obituary of David S. Kain

David Svend Kain, 47, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Salem Hospital with his family by his side after a 7 month illness with cancer. He was born in Salem on May 24, 1963, the son of Christine (Madsen) Kain/ Goodwin and the late James Kain Sr. He was raised and educated in Salem since his infancy by his mother and her husband Paul Goodwin. He later lived in Daytona Beach Florida for 15 years before returning to Peabody 3 years ago. David had worked in the Construction Industry for over 25 years prior to a disability illness. He had been an avid fisherman and enjoyed going fishing in both fresh and salt waters. He had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Salem. He loved spending time with his siblings and their families and had been an animal lover taking care of his two chihuahuas, Domino and Cosmo ,and his beloved cat Felix. He also was a loyal fan of New England Patriot Football and the Boston Bruins. Surviving him are his parents of Salem, his best friend, fiancé and devoted caretaker Gail Provost of Peabody, his siblings, James Kain Jr., Todd and Darrell Kain, Paul Goodwin Jr., Justin Goodein, Jennifer Ann Goodwin, twin sister and brother Kalem and Jarrett Goodwin, Tracy Goodwin, Svend Goodwin , his step-siblings Austin and Tiffany Kain and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. He was the brother of the late Aaron Goodwin who died in 2002. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home.
