Obituary of Tenney C. (Gober) Capriotti

PEABODY—Tenney C. (Gober) Capriotti, 66, beloved wife of the late Daniel P. Capriotti, Jr., died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston, following a valiant effort with a short term illness. Born on February 19, 1944, in Boston, she was the daughter to the late Floyd and Vivian (Inzer) Gober. She grew up in Boston and attended schools there. Mrs. Capriotti lived in Abington for several years, and was a licensed hairdresser. She owned her own hairdressing shop when living there. She moved to Peabody and stayed home with her children until they were grown. She worked at Silhouette Hair Salon in Peabody for many years, and later with Franco’s in Peabody. She also was a waitress at Augustine’s Restaurant in Saugus. Tenney enjoyed flowers, and was a member of the Peabody Garden Club. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Portuguese-American War Veterans, Post 1 of Peabody and the Franco-American Club of Beverly. She volunteered with the Peabody Council on Aging as she would visit shut-ins to do their hairstyling. She also enjoyed travel to Paris, Ireland, and visiting family in Florida. She was a communicant at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody where she was active in doing the flower arranging for the holidays and other special occasions. She is survived by: a daughter, Danielle P. Capriotti and a son Daniel P. Capriotti, III both of Peabody; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Cayla, and Brady Lendall and Joseph, Madeline, and Jordyn Capriotti all of Peabody; a sister, Shirley Potter of NY; a brother, Bob Gober of NH & Naples, FL; a half-brother, Stan Gober of Goodland, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents and second husband, by her first husband Patrick Kelly, and a sister Joyce Jardine. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Monday August 2, 2010 starting at 5 PM. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 6:50 P.M. in the funeral home, and the visitation will end at 8 P.M. Cremation will follow the ceremony.
