Obituary of Samantha J. "Sam" Stevenson

Samantha J. “Sam” Stevenson, 24, of Andover, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Sam was born on January 27, 1986, in Masa, AZ, daughter of Madeleine E. “Mal” (Mullen) Hulslander of Lawrence, and Roger Stevenson of Phoenix, AZ. Sam was raised in Beverly by her mother and step-father Douglas L. “Doug” Hulslander, attended Beverly High School, was a member of the cheerleading team and a 2004 graduate, and as a youngster Sam was a gymnast for many years. She also resided in Wakefield, Methuen and AZ. She had been employed as a collector by a North Shore Bill Collection Agency. Sam’s life revolved around her family, her numerous friends, her Chihuahua Bella “B” and also loved watching the Patriots. In addition to her mother and step-father of Lawrence, Sam is survived by her fiancée, Joseph D. “Bo” Pacheco of Andover; 2 brothers, William Stevenson and David Stevenson both of Beverly; a step-sister, Samantha Marshall and her husband Mark of Peabody; a step-brother, Adam Hulslander, U.S. Army, Germany; her step-grandmother, Edna Hulslander of Nashua, NH; her paternal grandfather, Nelson Stevenson and his wife Doris of AZ, her paternal grandmother, Frances S. Bliss of AZ; her aunts and uncles, Marilee Dodge of Amesbury, Philip and Deborah Mullen of Ipswich, Eileen and Curtis Sartell of Beverly, William and Jeanne Mullen of Salem, Richard Mullen of Manchester, NH, Susan Mullen of Danvers, James and Janet Stevenson of CA and Jeffrey Stevenson of AZ; her fiancées parents, Rosemary Drenas of Lowell and Charles “Chuck” Kokinos DMD; 38 cousins and numerous friends. Her uncle Thomas C. Mullen Jr. predeceased her. Sam’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. Cremation will follow the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made in Sam’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation., 89 South St., #802, Boston, MA 02111.
