Anthony “Tony” L. Faletra
PEABODY—Anthony “Tony” L. Faletra, 75, beloved husband of Irene “Rene” Faletra of Peabody, died peacefully while in the comforting presence and surrounding of his family with him at his home.
Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Antoinette (Marino) Faletra. He lived in Chelsea in his youth where he attended schools, then moved to Everett and he graduated from Chelsea High School. He then attended Wentworth Institute in Boston. He lived in Peabody for the last 42 years.
Mr. Faletra worked as a much-loved manager with Polaroid Corporation at their headquarters office in Cambridge for a satisfying 30 year career. He later was a consultant with John Hancock Company in Boston in their printing department.
Tony enjoyed a simple life with family. He enjoyed travel with his wife and family, having been to Italy 11 times, and also to Florida and California. He performed a patriotic duty volunteering with the National Guard for 10 years from 1953 – 1963, was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the North Reading Gun Club, and enjoyed gardening—especially his newly developed fig tree.
He is survived by: his wife, Irene “Rene” (Valente) Faletra of Peabody, with whom he recently celebrated his 46th wedding anniversary; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher A. & Carleen Faletra of Murrieta, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Joseph Mogavero of Topsfield; four grandchildren, Mia, Emmi, and Dominic Mogavero of Topsfield and Braydon Faletra of CA; two brothers, a twin brother, Joseph “Joe” Faletra of Peabody and Benedict “Buddy” Faletra of Chelsea; a sister, Josephine Sinatra of Everett, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
