Obituary of Theresa B. ( Kotsifas) Manos

Theresa B. (Kotsifas) Manos, 92, of Peabody died Thursday at the NSMC – Salem Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Michael Manos who died in 1993. She was born in Waltham, MA on February 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Marchacos) Kotsifas and was raised there graduating from Waltham High School in 1936. She then was employed for 10 years with the former Waltham Watch Company prior to her marriage in 1946. Theresa had resided in Peabody for the past 60 years and had been a member of the St. Vasilios Church. After raising her children, she was employed for 7 years with the Huse, Liberty Mica Company at the Centennial Park in Peabody. She loved to draw and was known for her Greek cooking and doing the Greek dancers. She also liked to knit and in her earlier years had played the violin. She had been a volunteer for the Mother’s March of Dimes in Peabody for many years. She had many loving friends and was always there for them. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Manos of Danvers, two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Manos and Nicholas and Patricia Manos all of Peabody, a brother George Kotsifas of Waltham, two sisters, Bessie Karamas of Waltham and Clara Boisvert of Dennisport, MA, a grandson, Nicholas Manos of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Peter Kotsifas and Effie Pappas. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral home followed by Services in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
