William L. Fader
PEABODY—William L. Fader, 90, beloved husband of the late Veronica (Sheris) Fader, died peacefully at home on Tuesday September 14, 2010 after surviving a series of long illnesses and the loss of his wife, Veronica, last year with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Justin L. and Helen M. (Blaney) Fader. He was a lifelong resident of the city, and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1938.
Mr. Fader had worked in the leather industry and at General Electric in Lynn before going into the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was assigned to the USS North Carolina, and served for five years before returning stateside. He then married the love of his life, Veronica, on March 21, 1947.
He was a machinist with GE in the Riverworks Plant in Lynn for 41 years of service. He retired nearly 30 years ago.
William, “Bill” as he was known, was a member of the A.O.H. Division 11 of Peabody where he enjoyed many good times. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 153 of Peabody and the He enjoyed travel, fishing, bowling leagues, Bingo and passing time with family and friends playing Cribbage and other card games, and taking a drive anywhere and he appreciated foliage viewing, and Western/Action/Adventure movies.
He is survived by: three sons, William L. Fader of Peabody, Robert P. Fader of Lynn, and James D. & his wife Loretta Fader of Peabody; one grandson, Keith C. Fader of Peabody; a sister and brother-in-law, Marolyn & Michael Ciarletta of Salem; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Isabelle & Harold Hoag of Peabody, and several nieces. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Fader.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 7 PM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the Funeral Service on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Cremation will follow later. Family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
