Obituary of Stella Agnes (Leszczynski) Sioke

Stella Agnes (Leszczynski) Sioke, 82, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George Sioke. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosella (Murphy) Leszczynski. She was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1945. Stella worked for over 20 years at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody in the house keeping department. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods’s Casino in Connecticut. Stella is survived by her long time friend of 25 years, William King of Peabody, Mae Berreman of North Andover, her cousin Helen Lynch of Peabody and by several cousins. She was the sister of the late Catherine Leszczynski. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
