Obituary of James G Henkle
James G. Henkle, 79, of Peabody, formerly of Somerville, passed away after a short illness on Monday September 21, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Lottie (McAlips) Henkle, and brother William Henkle.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Hurley) Henkle, and children James and his wife Stephanie Henkle of Columbus, OH, Edward Henkle and Kathleen Henkle of Somerville, Thomas and his wife Kathy Henkle of Manchester, NH, Ann Henkle of Stoneham, and Julie and her husband John Morrison of Machester, NH, his grandchildren, Kristy Henkle of Somerville, Robin and Sarah Henkle of Manchester, NH, and is also survived by his great grandson, Paul and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim, a USAF veteran, worked as a machinist and retired from Digital Equipment Corp as a Hardware Engineer. After his retirement he volunteered as an instructor of Sheet Metal Mechanics at the Somerville Trade High School and helped GED students with their studies. Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no service or visiting hours. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s name to the American Diabetes Assoc. at www.diabetes.org.
