Obituary of Jeannette (LeBlanc)(Shonyo) L'Italien

Jeannette (LeBlanc) (Shonyo) L’Italien, 83, wife of the late Henry L’Italien and the late Richard Shonyo, died unexpectedly at the North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital on Sunday October 17, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Alphee and Christine (Poirier) LeBlanc. She grew up in Lynn where she attended schools. She graduated from St. Jean the Baptist High School in Lynn, Class of 1946. Mrs. L’Italien was a bank teller, first employed with the Lynn Institution for Savings in Lynn. She returned to the Peabody branch which merged into Eastern Bank in Peabody where she worked for 20 years. Jeannette enjoyed sitting on her front porch at home for socializing, and many who passed her home would stop and talk with her. She also enjoyed fill-in puzzle books, knitting & sewing, bingo, and cooking her specialties which she would be happiest gathering with family and friends. She is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Judy Shonyo of Lynn, Esther and her Companion Richard Ruth and Dorothy Shonyo, all of Peabody, six grandchildren, Jennifer and Katie Linares, Maria Grussi, and Elisa, Emanuel, and Richard Rodriguez-Shonyo, four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brianna, J.J., and Yianna Lee; two brothers, Joseph LeBlanc of FL and Joseph LeBlanc of Lynn, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol (Grussi) Shonyo, her sisters, Marie Madigan, Alice Kershaw, and Marie Malmsten, and her brother Joseph George LeBlanc. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
