Obituary of Eva C. (St Pierre) Castronova
Eva C. (St Pierre) Castronova, 97, of Peabody, wife of the late Felice J. Castronova, passed away peacefully at the Hunt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Danvers on Tuesday, October 26, 2010.
Mrs. Castronova was born in Salem, on September 13, 1913, one of 19 children of parents Joseph and Beatrice (Deschene) St Pierre.
Mrs. Castronova was employed for 10 years at CBS Hytron in Salem before leaving to raise her 3 sons. In 1970, she returned to work at Teddy’s Coffee Shop on Walnut Street in Peabody where she remained until 1975. Mrs. Castronova was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for entire family. She was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #218 in Salem for many years.
Mrs. Castronova is survived by her son, Roland T. Castronova of Peabody; her siblings and their spouses, Jeannette Maurice of Salem, Rene and Nancy St Pierre of Salem, Rose and Roger Ouellette of Salem, Terry St Pierre of Ipswich, and Jim and Ann Marie St. Pierre of Salem; her grandchildren, Lisa L. Castronova of Peabody, Kukju and his wife Auju Castronova of Seattle WA; a great granddaughter, Kayla Ragucci and a great great grandson, Aiden Ragucci-Foss both of Peabody; her former daughter-in-law, Linda C. Daniels of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Castronova’s sons James J. “Jimmy” Castronova and U.S. Army Master Sergeant Felice “Billy” Castronova (Ret) and 13 siblings predeceased her.
Mrs. Castronova’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, October 29, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. The family has requested that donations be made in the memory of Eva Castronova to the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, C/O activities funds, 90 Lindall St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3400, Woburn, MA 01801. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
