Obituary of Lillian (Panchenko) Pasternak

Lillian (Panchenko) Pasternak, 90, of Danvers formerly of Peabody, loving wife of the late John Pasternak, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family at her side. Mrs. Pasternak was born on May 22, 1920, in Peabody, the daughter of Epheme and Marina (Mazurenko) Panchenko. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1937. She resided in Peabody before moving to her son’s home in Danvers in 2000. Mrs. Pasternak was employed for 10 years as an assembler at the former CBS Hytron in Danvers. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Peabody. She enjoyed participating with the Golden Agers at the Peter Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody and traveled extensively throughout the world with her family. Mrs. Pasternak always mentioned that “her long life was attributed to her passion for healthy cooking”. As such, she dedicated her life creating a home for her family. Mrs. Pasternak is survived by her 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, John “ Sonny” Pasternak, Jr. of Danvers, and Michael and Ferne Pasternak of Manchester, CT; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tasha and Tim Das of Gilbert, AZ, Bryna and Stephen Morehouse of MA, and Tate Pasternak of New York, NY; 3 great grandchildren, Serena and Jaimin Das, and Aubrey Morehouse; a devoted nephew Joe Cronin whom she considered as her 3rd son, and many other nieces and nephews. Her sister Martha Cronin predeceased her. Mrs. Pasternak’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., (downtown location) Peabody followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 12 Washington St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, October 29, 2010 at 20 Church Street from 4 to 7 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in memory of Lillian Pasternak to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, C/O Garden of Remembrance, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923. Burial in cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
