David W. Schweizer
BEVERLY—David W. Schweizer, 47, formerly of Peabody, beloved husband of Joann (Pattavina) Schweizer, died peacefully in the comforting presence of his family on Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a long illness.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of Walter and Mildred (Cook) Schweizer of Peabody. He grew up in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1981. He received his degree in marketing from U-Mass Dartmouth.
Dave worked in the insurance field, and was currently a Senior Claims Adjuster with CRICO Risk Management foundations.
David was an avid Boston sports fan. He played on the Peabody High Football team, and also played lacrosse. He enjoyed golf, basketball, and travelling to Maine. More importantly, he enjoyed spending time as a father with his children, and other gatherings of family and friends.
He is survived by: his wife, Joann (Pattavina) Schweizer of Beverly, with whom he shared nearly eight years of marriage; his children, Matthew D. Schweizer, who is also the son of Robin Schweizer, of Peabody, and Andrew Schweizer and Jenna Schweizer of Beverly; his parents, Walter and Mildred Schweizer of Peabody; three brothers, Carl Schweizer of Beverly, Robert & his wife Deborah Schweizer and Mark & his wife Jane Schweizer all of Merrimac, MA; his father-in-law Emanuel Pattavina, and his late wife Connie, of Middletown, CT; his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Steven Pattavina of Meriden, CT, Rick & Mari Pattavina of Berlin, CT, and Paula & Brian Reid of Stonington, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at 11 AM in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Beverly. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
