Obituary of Gerald P. Morrical, Jr.

Gerald P. Morrical, Jr. PEABODY—Gerald P. Morrical, Jr., 64, died peacefully on Monday November 8, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Somerville, he was the son to the late Gerald P. Morrical, Sr and Susan (Cogliano) Morrical. He grew up there and attended schools there. He graduated from Somerville High School. He lived in Lynn for several years, then lived in Peabody for the last 20 years. Mr. Morrical was an Assistant Golf Pro at the Colonial Golf Course in Lynnfield for many years. He later was employed as a shuttle driver for Brooksby Village in Peabody, and he was a driver for the City of Peabody Council on Aging for two years. Gerald loved golf, and had other special gifts. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family, as social gatherings were important to him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and intelligence, as he could connect with others in humor very well. He performed in stand-up comedy in his younger years. He is survived by: a daughter, Lauren Morrical of Peabody; a sister, Susan & her husband Kenneth Buffington of Farmington, NH; his parents both died before he was 10, so he grew up with a cousin as close as his sister, Maureen Blackmore of Shelbourne, MA, and had many friends around the North Shore area. Following cremation, a visitation and gathering will be held on Friday November 12, 2010 from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Ceremony at 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
