Edna (Hingston) Silva
PEABODY—Edna (Hingston) Silva, 79, beloved wife of the late Walter Silva, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Edna (Castle) Hingston. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School. She continued her education at Marion Court Junior College in Swampscott.
Mrs. Silva was an administrative assistant with North Shore Elder Services where she enjoyed a career of over 20 years.
She is survived by: two sons, Scott Silva and Michael Silva, both of Peabody; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois & her husband Bruce Lothrop and Kim & her husband John Rocco both of Peabody; six grandchildren, Mary and Anne Marie Carson, Matthew and Stefanie Krawczyk, and Joseph and Anthony Rocco; a great-granddaughter, Araya Carson Barrette; two brothers Richard Hingston of AZ and Daniel & his wife Joyce Hingston of NH & FL, and a very special sister-in-law, Mary Mavroules of Peabody. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Robert “Sixto” Silva and Linda Carson.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held today (Monday) from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
