Obituary of WIlliam Morelli

William Morelli, 88, of 286 Newbury St., West Peabody, died Saturday at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Peabody after a short Illness. He was the husband of the late Ann (Fiatarone) Morelli. Born in Boston on December 21, 1914, he was the son of the late Pellegrino and Alfonsa (Schiappi) Morelli and was raised in So. Boston and graduated from So. Boston High School in 1932. After his marriage lived in East Boston before moving to Peabody 25 years ago. He had been a train Guard for the MBTA for 32 years prior to his retirement 24 years ago. A Veteran of WW 11, he served overseas with the U.S.Army in the Asiatic and Pacific Theatre Operations for 3 years prior to his discharge in 1945. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and bowling with the Peabody Senior Citizens. He was a member of the Car Mens Union Local 598 of Boston. He is survived by 2 Sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marie and Michael Mattola of Newburyport and Jean Fiatarone of Revere; a Brother-in-law and his wife John and Edith Fiatarone of Danvers, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Conway , Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. Peabody facility. A Visitation will be held prior to the Service from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
