I had the opportunity to recruit and coach Paul at the U of Maine prior to his departure for the U of Mass. He was a very thoughtful person whose personal qualities were equal to his determination to become a professional hockey player. I have followed his hockey career with a very special interest and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him well. He won't be forgotten.

To the Lynch family and Whitney,
Words cannot expess our sorrow for your loss. Please know that we will remember Paul as a gentleman of the highest quality and tough competitor on the ice.
There are people we meet in life that we are meant to know and meant to love without explanation, without exception, and without hesitation. Paul was one of those people for us. From the day we met, when he first landed in Knoxville just a few short years ago until his untimely passing, Paul was a dear friend who became like family. He was always there for the both of us, always willing to help, always looking out for us even as we were trying to look out for him. Paul was an amazing man, with an amazing heart, and the best smile, not to mention some "wicked good hip checks" as my husband Jody would say. Paul was well loved and will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to the Lynch family, to his girlfriend Whitney, and to all of Paul's friends. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all. As I've said once before this week: If you met him - you were lucky, if you were his friend - you were honored, if you were his family - you were blessed.

Paul, you were an inspiration to us. We will love and remember you always.

Paul was a great man and a great hockey player. We have gotton close to players before but not as close as with Paul. Growing up in Lynn Ma. we were from the same part of the country and licked the same teams and talked every time we saw each other.
I feel like I lost a member of my family and it hurts. He will be missed by anyone who knew him, if not they have no feelings.
To Pauls family I can't tell you how sorry I am and only wish I could be up there for the services.

Once again good by Paul you will be missed but never forgotton.

Paul,
I was very sorry to read the passing of your son, young Paul. I know your mother (Aunt Peggy) always said how proud you and Peggy were of him with being such a good hockey player and all of the hours of practice and traveling where ever he had to go for his games. Your mom was real proud of him.
Your Cousin,
Marsha Urbanski Walor

Paul, I am so thankful that I got a chance to know you in our short, 2 year friendship. From our first meeting you made me laugh. I love my jersey and will always cherish that I have it. When we last spoke, I told you it was being retired to the Paul Lynch wall of the hockey room until we would meet and you would autograph the back. I will never forget you!!

I am glad that I have the memories that I have of you! Love, Judy

The hearts of all who knew and loved Paul are breaking with this sudden and tragic loss. I've only known him a few years but found him to be a kind and gentle man who valued loyalty and friendship. He overcame many obstacles in his young life and never stopped trying to be the best he could be. I take comfort in the fact that he's been reunited with his beloved mother. My sincere wish for his family and close friends is that the support of his many friends throughout the hockey world and beyond will bring you some measure of peace.

There are no words to express the sadness at this loss. I was acquainted with Paul thru hockey and I can say that he had the respect of his teammates and opponents. The way in which he reclaimed his life was an inspiration to all who knew him. His relationship with his family is a model of unconditional love and strength. The hockey family mourns him and what we have lost. My prayers are with his family as well as my thanks for sharing Paul with us.

Paul, I love you more than I could ever put into words. You were such a wonderful and amazing person. I could have never asked for a more wonderful boyfriend and not only a boyfriend but a best friend! You never worried about yourself you always put others first which made you even an even better person. I cherish every moment that we spent together and I never could imagine not spending the past 13 months together. You always knew how to make me smile when I was down. But, I know you are in a better place now..you are no longer in pain and get to spend the rest of your life with your sweet mom that you always talked about so much. I know she is so happy to be spending time with you right now! Even though you are gone I will always have all the wonderful memories that we shared together in my heart! I also know that you a beautifully amazing angel watching over me everyday now! I love you soooo much babe!!!
