Obituary of Walter H. Spanks
Peabody, July 29, 2005. Walter H. Spanks, 72, of Peabody and formerly of Wilmington, beloved husband of Josephine (Curran) Spanks of Peabody,died Friday at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, Gloucester.
He was born in Malden on November 14, 1932, the loving son of Wilbur Spanks of Wilmington and the late Mae (LeBlanc) Spanks and had resided in Peabody for the past 30 years.
He had been a manager of Corcoran Ventilation Company in North Reading for over 30 years. Later he worked at the Hannaford Supermarket in West Peabdoy. He enjoyed gardening, and growing vegetables and also golfing.
Surviving him besides his wife and father are his children, Pauline Silva, Lauren Spanks, Carol Wall, Linda Corbett, Richard Wall and Gary Wall and several grandchildren, a brother and brother-in-law, of Janice and Vinnie Gaglione of Peabody.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm Street, Danvers, Ma 01923.
