Obituary of Josephine Ann (Bonfanti) DeFrancesco

Josephine Ann (Bonfanti) DeFrancesco, 87, of Newmarket NH, wife of the late Pasquale "Patsy" DeFrancesco, died at her home on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Mrs. DeFrancesco was born in Wakefield on March 7, 1923, daughter of the late Leonard and Angela (Cavelieri) Bonfanti. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1941. She resided in Salem for 45 years before moving to Epping NH in 1988. Mrs. DeFrancesco worked with her husband Pasquale at the John DeFrancesco & Sons family business for 30 years. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family. In later years she was so proud of her 3 grandsons and their accomplishments and most recently of her great granddaughter Arianna. Josephine was a member of the Sons of Italy and as hobbies enjoyed gardening and cooking. Mrs. DeFrancesco is survived by her daughter Margaret M. DeFrancesco and her companion Jon Napper of Epping, NH; 3 grandsons, David, Thomas and Robin, Christopher and Kelly; a great granddaughter Arianna M. Josephine DeFrancesco; a sister, Rose Moscetto, and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her son John L. DeFrancesco and her siblings Connie Sacco, Mary Mallia, Corrado “Charlie”, Manuel, Leo, Ignatius and Joseph Bonfanti. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn Street, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, December 10, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
