Obituary of Michael George McFarland

Michael George McFarland, 62, of Peabody, died peacefully Monday, December 20, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of 31 years to Nanette Ann (Poulin) Mc Farland. He was born in Lynn, MA on September 25, 1948, the son of the late Andrew and Jessie (Brown) Mc Farland and had resided most of his life in Peabody. He was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1966 and later entered the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he became a truck driver for Merrimack Valley Distributing Company, Danvers for 32 years prior to his retirement 2 years ago. He enjoyed stock car racing especially in Epping, NH , fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle throughout New England. Surviving him besides wife are a son, Sean McFarland of San Diego, CA, a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Richard Sharp of Beverly, a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Diane Mc Farland of Salem, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maureen and James Putney and Patti and Bob Neal all of Peabody, his two dogs, Gizmo and Lucy, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and his very special loving friends . A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St Ann’s Church, Lynn St., SO Peabody at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
