Obituary of Theresa Simone (Dumas) Ouellette

Theresa S. (Dumas) Ouellette, 77, of Washington St.,Peabody, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Frenchie Ouellette, died unexpectedly on Friday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marie Helena (Bousquet) Dumas. She lived in Salem in her youth and attended Salem schools. She graduated from Salem High School and the School of Nursing at Salem High and Salem Hospital. Mrs. Ouellette was a Licensed Practical Nurse who served over 20 years in the field. She worked at Salem Hospital, and later at Farnsworth Nursing Home in Peabody for several years before retiring over 20 years ago. She also worked at CBS Hytron in Danvers during World War II. She enjoyed being at home, and her homemaking skills were demonstrated by her love of cooking, knitting, crochet, and always enjoyed being sociable and gathering with her grandchildren and family. She also wrote poetry and like jazz music. She is survived by: two daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne & Barry Merluzzo and Judith Dunajski, both of Peabody; one son, Dennis Lee Ouellette of Farmington, NH; a dear friend and companion, Francis Carter of Peabody; five grandchildren, Barry J. Merluzzo and Angela Merluzzo, both of Peabody, Ronald J. Dunajski of Peabody, Gerald Ouellette of Reading, and Cheri Ouellette of NH, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded indeath by her husband, Joseph Ouellette, a grandson, Shawn Dunajski, and a brother Roger Dumas. Her funeral will be on Monday at 1:30 P.M. in the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
