Obituary of James P. Frasca

James P. Frasca PEABODY—James P. Frasca, 87, died peacefully on Christmas Eve at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a long illness. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Rita (Callan) Frasca in 1979, and his loving companion of 22 years, Marie E. (Nelson) Burke in 2005. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Peter and Virginia (Mallia) Frasca. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1941. He then went on to serve his patriotic duty, enlisting with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Frasca was employed by the City of Peabody in the Water Department for over 44 years before retiring. Jim was a longtime communicant of St. Ann’s Church in South Peabody, the Peabody B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1409 of Peabody, the Knights of Columbus, Leo Council 508 of Peabody, and the American Legion, Post 153 of Peabody. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, and traveling. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and was very close to the children of his companion. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, wife, and loving companion, by two brothers and two sisters; Michael Frasca and Rosario Frasca, and Josephine Frasca, and Rose Paras. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
