Obituary of Daniel F. Sullivan

Daniel F. Sullivan, Jr. 72 PEABODY—Daniel F. Sullivan, Jr., beloved husband of the late Vera (Neistorowich) Sullivan, died unexpectedly at the home of his daughter on Friday December 24, 2010 while visiting for the Christmas holiday. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Daniel F. and Victoria (Bick) Sullivan, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He attended the Wallis School and graduated from Peabody High School. Mr. Sullivan worked at the Wilbur Tracey Associates in Gloucester before retiring. Dan was married in 1959 to Vera Neistrorowich at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody. They enjoyed life together and had many world travels adventures, including Ireland, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and New Hampshire. They also toured the United States to many national parks and enjoy the great outdoors together. They were married 48 years before Vera passed away. Now he joins her in peace forever. He was known as Grampy to many of the neighborhood kids in Naperville on his frequent trips to visit his daughter Maureen in Illinois. He always loved playing with the children, and they loved him. He will be sorely missed by the many relatives and friends whose lives were touched by this generous and loving man. He was a baseball pitcher and played semi-professional baseball for St. Michael’s baseball team of Peabody. He enjoyed golf, baseball, and walking excursions with the Appalachian Club. He was always friendly and outgoing, a real people person. Always an optimist and enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his daughter Maureen Sullivan and grandson Daniel Lewis, both of Naperville, Illinois; a brother Robert Sullivan and his wife Eleanor, and nieces Kelly and Lori of Peabody, a sister-in law Jeanette and William Dash of Danvers, his niece Kathy Koffman of Boca Raton Florida, nephew David Dash of Somerville, VT nephews William Neistrorowich of NH and Stephen Neistrorowich of Danvers. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother David Sullivan. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 6 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday January 3, 2011 at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
