Obituary of Nancy Jean (Washburn) Muse
Nancy Jean (Washburn) Muse, 77 of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Friday afternoon at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John “Jack” Muse, Jr.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lillian (Johanson) Washburn. She was raised and educated in Peabody, later lived in Beverly and has spent the last four years living in Danvers.
Nancy dedicated her life to her family and after her children were grown, she entered the work force as a home health aid and worked throughout the North Shore before retiring.
Nancy was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage and family was very important to her. She loved pets and contributed to the humane society and was also fond of the St. Jude’s children fund as well.
She is survived by her beloved children, William Oxford of Danvers, Philip Oxford of Ft. Myers, FL., and Janice Oxford of Danvers, her sister, Priscilla Pierce of Peabody, her four loving grandchildren, Roland, Melanie, Eric, and Cheyenne Oxford, four great grandchildren, Ashanti, Susan, Natalie, and D’Andre, and is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marshall Washburn.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
