Obituary of Lawrence H. "Larry" Hynd

Lawrence H. Larry Hynd 65 years, husband of Sandra F. Sandy Cooper) Hynd of Peabody died unexpectedly Saturday morning after being stricken at his home. Mr. Hynd was born on September 2, 1939 in Wishaw, Scotland son of the late Peter S. and Agnes (Coates) Hynd. He was raised and educated in Scotland. Mr. Hynd immigrated to the United States in 1966 making his home in Chelsea before moving to Peabody 37 years ago. Mr. Hynd was employed for 15 years as a machinist at Harmonic Drive Technologies in Peabody. He was a lifetime member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club and former member of the Golden Rule Lodge AF & AM of Wakefield. He was a history buff, an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also loved dogs. In addition to his wife of 37 years, he is survived by a daughter, Terry Hynd of Peabody; a son and his wife, Peter S. Pete and Karyn Hynd of Peabody. A family service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the VA Medical Center, C/O Joseph Dooley Chief of Volunteer Services, 200 Springs Rd., Bedford MA 01730.
