Obituary of Margaret M. (O'Leary) Hogan

Margaret M. (O’ Leary) Hogan, 82, of Peabody died early Tuesday morning at the Rainbow Nursing Home, Peabody after a short illness. She was the wife of Thomas H. Hogan with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Peabody on December 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nora (Gerrity) O’ Leary and was a life long resident of Peabody. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and was first employed at the former GTE Sylvania Co in Salem. Later she was a sales clerk at the former Ann & Hope Department Store in Danvers for 15 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends and being with her family. Surviving her besides her husband are two sons and daughters-in-law, John P. Jack and Donna Hogan and Henry T. Hank and Kathy Hogan all of Peabody, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and William Hannon of Chilton, Wisconsin and Mary Ann and Ricky Voisine of Peabody, Ma., a daughter-in-law, Debra (Burns) Hogan of Salem, a sister, Patricia Pariseau of Peabody, 11 grandchildren, a great Granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James M. Hogan who died last April and Edward Hogan and the sister of the late Richard and James O’ Leary, Mary Kummel, Ethel Griffin and Ruth O’ Leary. Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility (978-531-0472) followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
