Obituary of Armida M. (Marazino) Regis

Armida M. (Marazino) Regis PEABODY—Armida M. (Marazino) Regis, 94, beloved wife of the late Guido V. Regis, passed away in the comforting presence of her family, on Wednesday January 19, 2011. Born in Canton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Onorio and Santina (DeGrandi) Marazino. She lived there as a young girl, then moved to Gattinara, a village in the Piedmont section of Italy, where she grew up. At 21 years old, she moved back to the United States living in Medford for a few years, until moving to Peabody in 1940 where she lived the rest of her life. Mrs. Regis worked as a Hand-Sprayer in her future husband’s business at Rex Leather until she was married and had children. She then enjoyed her nurturing role as a loving mother and homemaker with her family. Armida enjoyed bowling, knitting, and tatting. She loved music and dancing which showed her energetic, driven character. Her faith and devotion were important to her as a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody. She was a member of the Women’s Italian American Society and enjoyed playing Beano. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and remembered for her strong will to enjoy life. She is survived by: a daughter, Linda Regis of Peabody; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard & Patricia Regis of Topsfield and Paul Regis of Peabody; two grandsons, Anthony and Victor Regis of Topsfield; a sister, Rosina Regis of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a brother Frank Marazino anda sister Lucinda Imazio. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the funeral home at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
