Obituary of Sophie (Ziolkowski) Tusinski

Sophie (Ziolkowski) Tusinski, 97, of Peabody, wife of the late Stanley Tusinski, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Peabody Glen Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mrs. Tusinski was born on June 15, 1913 in Peabody the daughter of Vincent and Constance Ziolkowski. She was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School class of 1930 and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Tusinski was Miss Peabody 1935, housekeeper for 25 years at St. Joseph Church, a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Holy Rosary Society and Ladies Sodality at the Church, also a member of the VFW Fidelity Post 1011 Ladies Auxiliary in Peabody and the United Polish Association. Mrs. Tusinski volunteered for many years at the Peter A. Torigian Community Center. She loved traveling especially to visit her cousins in Poland, was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed bingo, scratching lottery tickets, gardening and sewing. Mrs. Tusinski is survived by her children and their spouses, Stanley E. and Lena Tusinski of Peabody, Carl V. and Barbara Tusinski of San Diego, CA; Philip J. and Linda Tusinski all of Pittsburg, NH; Jane T. Kotarski - Murphy and William Murphy of Pittsburg, NH, her brother and his wife Bernard and Marie Ziolkowski, and a sister, Nancy Delpero all of Sarasota, FL; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Ziolkowski of Ipswich and Alice Ziolkowski of FL; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, January 28, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Sophie Tusinski’s memory to the Peter A.
