Obituary of Ann V. (Doyle) Kiley

Mrs. Ann V. (Doyle) Kiley, 75, passed away suddenly on January 31, 2011 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Attorney Philip F. Kiley. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Alice (Hayes) Doyle. She graduated from St. James High and Trinity College in Washington D.C. She went on to receive her masters at Salem State College. Ann taught in the Salem Public Schools for 40 years. She started her career teaching middle school students at the Phillips School. She then taught third grade students at Witchcraft Heights. Ann had a great love of reading, politics, and sports. She was a longtime member of the Harvard Club of Boston. She was a devout parishioner at St. John’s Church in Peabody. She is survived by her daughter Mary Kate Kiley of Peabody. She was the second youngest of 12 children. She is survived by James Doyle of San Diego, the Honorable David Doyle of Salem, Louis Doyle of New York City, Mary Doyle of Salem, and Ellen Tassinari of Beverly. She was the sister of the late Joseph Doyle, Jackie Doyle, Richard Doyle, Peter Doyle, Philip Doyle, and Thomas Doyle. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ann’s memory to the charity of your choice.
